Bipartisan immigration deal in the works

It appears a deal is in the works concerning Immigration reform.  Washington politicians are trying to reach a deal that would allow the 12 million or so illegals a pathway to citizenship.

Immigration reform has been a problem in this country for many years. Washington has affirmed that it controls immigration policy and that the various states that suffer the most are basically powerless.

My problem with any immigration deal is that these people entered the United States illegally and broke the law.  So now we reward them with an opportunity to become legal?  I think this is wrong, there must be some kind of accountability to these people.  Just because they are here now, we should not forget that they broke the law in getting here.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin is a punk. After the tragedy in Connecticut, he quickly changed his tune as a gun supporter..........We certainly don't need the likes of him in politics......Spineless individuals that claim to be defenders of the second amendment...but cut and run at the first sign of trouble.........

Panic buying decends on the "black rifle" market

Since the tragic events in Connecticut, buyers have deluged gun shops nationwide and have created a run on the iconic AR-15 rifle.  Sales have soared since politicians have called for a reinstatement of the so-called "Assault rifle ban".

Web sites of AR-15 manufacturer's have stated year long back logs.......Prices have doubled and even tripled on parts and accessories.

Citizens are fearful of an over reaching government.  This sounds like a  Government that does not trust it's citizenry to own AR-15's and many other firearms . A government that restricts and fears its citizens is a government that is to be mistrusted.

Citizens we must resist the so-called "assault rifle ban" at all costs.......contact your elected representatives today.

Obama calls for reinstatement of Assault Weapon ban

President Obama tonight said he’s interested in seeing an assault weapons ban reintroduced, breaking his silence on the legislation, which has persisted in spite of at least five mass shootings during his term.

Citizens we must organize and resist such legislation. Our Nation has already experimented with a similar ban that lasted ten years. From 1994-2004, there was an assault weapon ban in place that limited certain features that weapons could have....there was also a limit on magazine capacity that civilians could purchase.

As citizens, we reserve the right to exercise our Second Amendment rights and do not want government telling us what types of firearms we can possess.

Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Those in power must always be watched"

"Those in power must always be watched" Those words were spoken by Frank Serpico, someone who truly knows about corruption in government.  Citizens, we must be diligent in questioning both elected officials and bureaucrats......after all, it is our tax dollars that pay their salaries.

"If we can invoke no ultimate limits on the power of government, a democracy is inevitably transformed into a kleptocracy - a license to steal, a warrant for oppression."
Janice Roberts Brown

America is a democracy....we have a right to question government at all levels and speak with unfettered criticism.....When the time comes that we fear the government, then it will be time for change.

Opposition to I-95 toll plan in Virginia continues to rise

Opposition to I-95 toll plan continues to rise. The Governor says that it is a way to raise revenue without raising taxes........Citizens, our Governor needs to go back for a Civics refresher course.

Taxes and Fees are ways in which governments raise money to cover their operating expenses. Consequently, they are one in the same.......

VDOT needs to look for ways to save money....Cut the fat in their spending and not force more taxes and fees on the citizens......
