"Those in power must always be watched"

"Those in power must always be watched" Those words were spoken by Frank Serpico, someone who truly knows about corruption in government.  Citizens, we must be diligent in questioning both elected officials and bureaucrats......after all, it is our tax dollars that pay their salaries.

"If we can invoke no ultimate limits on the power of government, a democracy is inevitably transformed into a kleptocracy - a license to steal, a warrant for oppression."
Janice Roberts Brown

America is a democracy....we have a right to question government at all levels and speak with unfettered criticism.....When the time comes that we fear the government, then it will be time for change.

Opposition to I-95 toll plan in Virginia continues to rise

Opposition to I-95 toll plan continues to rise. The Governor says that it is a way to raise revenue without raising taxes........Citizens, our Governor needs to go back for a Civics refresher course.

Taxes and Fees are ways in which governments raise money to cover their operating expenses. Consequently, they are one in the same.......

VDOT needs to look for ways to save money....Cut the fat in their spending and not force more taxes and fees on the citizens......

Army sergeant defends skeet-shooting gold

Vincent Hancock, a 23-year-old sergeant in the U.S. Army, won his second straight Olympic gold medal in skeet shooting Wednesday – the second skeet gold medal for the Americans at this Olympics.
Hancock bolstered his impressive Olympic resume with a score of 148 in London

This is impressive to say the least. Congratulations to Sergeant Hancock for his gold medal and representing the United States. Go Army........................

Sheriff Proffitt, just answer the question....

Where was Chesterfield County Sheriff Dennis Proffitt in June of 1968......over 500,000 US soldiers were locked in an epic struggle against communism in the jungles of Vietnam.......

It is possible to draw a contrast between draft evasion and draft avoidance. Just as tax avoidance is defined as reducing or eliminating one's tax liability through legal means, draft avoidance is the elimination or mitigation of a potential conscript's military service obligation through some lawful procedure.

The Vietnam era version of Webster's Unabridged Dictionary (1968) simply defined draft dodger as "one who avoids military service" regardless how it was done

My question to Sheriff Dennis Proffitt.......which are you.............or perhaps....where were you? The citizens would love to see your Selective Service Classifications assigned to you during the Vietnam War.......and your draft card........thank you.......

Congress told of growing threat from al-Qaida in Iraq

Our enemies are not defeated and they are rearing their ugly head once again. Al-Qaida is a plauge that must be destroyed at all costs.........

This is not the time for cowards or people who prefer to keep their heads in the sand. We must be determined to defeat these scum at all costs.............

America has had her share of enemies and we have endured.....and we shall.............

Obama looking for 'consensus' on gun issue

From USA Today  The President is seeking more gun control following the recent mass shooting in Colorado....Obama and his aides have signaled they seek to unveil new package of gun control legislation in the coming weeks.

Citizens, we do not need any more gun control legislation. We need more concealed carry laws that allow us to defend ourselves......This is stomach turning, knee-jerk reaction politics at its best.

Current concealed carry laws restrict the citizenry in many ways. Concealed carry is banned in many places where citizens might need to defend themselves.

We need the right to free, unfettered concealed carry and unrestricted access to firearms so we can defend ourselves.

Sheriff Dennis Proffitt, Donnie Newton and "fear 101"

My sources at the Chesterfield Sheriff's Office have informed me of a recent meeting of the "minds".....Donnie Newton...a colonel I think, was having a meeting with Sergeant's.....concerning shortcomings at the jail........Leadership informed the Sergeant's.....that fear must be invoked as a management tool.......One of the Sargeant's said......."I can not be responsible what what happens when I am not here".....Management went on to say  yes, you can, your employees should be so scared of what you will do to them...they will be afraid to do anything wrong......LOL.....

This is how management leads at the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office.....by fear, bullying and intimidation...Furthermore, there is zero tolerance of disscussion and dissent among the ranks.....Typical leadership of a bunch of neophytes.........Morale is low....a recent employee told me that "no one is scared of management".  Employees are not scared of retribution.....and do as they please....a total breakdown in leadership.........small wonder that there has been a recent rash of firings and demotions.......at the Sheriff's Office...Small wonder the Sheriff has created an office at the jail to better reign in on the shortcomings of management...

we must as taxpayers take control.............................
