Dennis Proffitt, the current Sheriff in Chesterfield County Virginia......refuses to answer questions about his service or lack thereof during the Vietnam War.

So far, Dennis Proffitt has refused requests for permission to access his draft card that is held in record at the National Archives and Records Administration.........

Citizens, this is troubling......after all, this is an individual who is paid by your tax dollars....a public servant that is accountable to the the citizens.........

Tammy Estep returns to Pocahontas Correctional Center.....

Tammy Estep back in control of Pocahontas Correctional Unit.....now known as CVCU. I was informed of this by a Virginia Department of Corrections Employee today..I must say I was in a state of shock.......how can this be......then my stomach began to turn, I became ill and vomited profusely........

Her triumphant return has to go down in history as one of the greatest returns to power in the last several hundred years.........Not since Napoleon returned from Elba....or perhaps when Mussolini was rescued by Nazi Paratroopers has then been such a (in)glorious return to power...........I can only hope her fate is equal to the aforementioned characters of world history.............

After all, it was under Estep's watch that Pocahontas became known as a house of debauchery.........an inmate became impregnated by an officer and many an employee was demoted and/or terminated for various improprieties with inmates..............pathetic to say the least........Furthermore, a huge lawsuit was won by inmates who sued in response to their treatment at Pocahontas Correctional Unit.........

Sad, but true..........Estep will return....but for what?.......How could anyone in their right mind.....walk back in to that institution and and take up where they left off......?

This kind of insanity, is something that even Edgar Allen Poe couldn't pen......................................

I was recently informed by a deputy at the Chesterfield Sheriff's Office that the inmates watch television on a 54 inch wide-screen.........Wow.......such luxuries afforded at the taxpayers expense to the scoff laws of Chesterfield County.........

Citizens, just another example of your tax dollars at work............while we squint to watch our 19 inch tv's the inmates at Sheriff Proffitt's hotel are watching in luxury.

Citizens.......we damn sure need to take control of this one.................. : (

Under 287(g), with federal approval and training, ICE provides state and local law enforcement with the training and subsequent authorization to identify, process, and when appropriate, detain immigration offenders they encounter during their regular, daily law-enforcement activity.
The March 2010 arrest of undocumented student Jessica Colotl sparked an intense debate around immigration issues, with Colotl's supporters calling for an end to 287(g).^[1] Colotl was arrested in Cobb County, Georgia, which has 287(g) legislation, and faces deportation.^[1]
Davidson County, Tennessee claims they saved millions of dollars and reduced crime by deporting illegal aliens under a 287(g) program in operation since April 2007. Thus far 8,000 illegal aliens that committed other crimes have been deported saving approximately $300,000 a week and allowing Davidson County to lease the extra jail space to other law enforcement agencies.^[2]

I recently tried to renew my hazardous materials endorsement on my commercial drivers liscense..........I was turned away because my birth certificate did not have a seal on it...........I have a social security card......valid drivers license........military discharge papers.............

I contacted the office of vital statistics.......where I was born and asked them what form of Identification i would need to obtain a birth certificate with a seal on it.......their reply was,  a valid drivers license.

This is a prime example how Government has run amok...........I was born in this country.......and have lived here all my life........

Ronald Reagan was right when he said....."Government is not the solution to your problems.........Government is your problem."

12 million people have entered this country illegally........when we try to crack down on them........the liberals take their side.............saying were denying them rights........

Trucking Group Urges DOT to Drop Hours Proposal

The American Trucking Association is pressuring the Department of Transportation to drop any changes in the hours that truck drivers are allowed to work.........

I hope the Government does not fall prey to this ridiculous proposal........The ATA represents industry and could care less about the drivers..........

I have said this all along and will continue to say this........who ever came up with the current hours of service rules........has never driven a big rig.........over long distances, in congested traffic and in all types of weather.........

The current hours of service are too long........they should be scaled  back and safety on our roadways demands it...........

Where was Proffitt when the Vietnam War was at a turning point?.......over 500,000 American men and women were serving in Vietnam and more than 400 a week were perishing in this Cold War struggle............

Three letters have been sent to Dennis Proffitt......requesting permission to access his draft card.........none have been answered...........

Consequently.........until Proffitt will step up to the plate and let the citizens view his classifications and draft card........I cast serious doubts..................

I can assure you, citizens....that after working with juvenile delinquents for over 8 years.......one thing is for certain.....A coward and a bully go hand in hand........

I can personally attest to the fact that Proffitt is a bully........He was once investigating an employee that had committed alleged improprieties.......Proffitt threatened me with my job in such a "child-like" manor that it was utterly ridiculous.  He literally bullied me as if we were on a school playground.

Some time in the last 24 months.......Chesterfield Sheriff Dennis Proffitt was investigated by the Federal Government........Office of the Special Counsel.......for alleged Hatch Act violations.....government corruption......After all, Proffitt was handed the Sheriff's job from his predecessor......Clarence Williams.........when a special election should have been called for.............

Virginia Tech announces 9.4 tuition hike

This is ridiculous........a 9.4 percent raises in tuition and fees......when the average worker is getting less than 3 percent in raises.......and many industries and the public sector have gone without raises for years.......

This is criminal.......raising tuition at rates 3 and 4 times what workers are receiving in raises.........this is a fleecing that must stop.......The folks who vote these raises in tuition have got to go!!!!!

Lahood rebukes his own agency after fatal bus crash in Virginia

Transportation Secretary Lahood has rebuked his own agency after the fatal bus crash in Virginia.......this is a sad one for all parties involved.........Citizens, this one makes me think.......who is minding the store........

The driver of the bus was cited and driver fatigue has been the early villain in this tragic accident.........

The "hours of service rules" set forth by the department of transportation are a joke........They were promulgated by a bunch of idiots who have never driven large vehicles on congested roads, in all types of weather.......

Tractor trailer drivers are allowed to work a 14 hour day......this is to include no more than ten hours of actual driving.............this is ridiculous......How can any one in their right mind consider this acceptable.......this is too much on duty time........

It should be reduced by a minimum of two hours on duty time.......to a 12 hour day......driving 10 hours is the max........and 2 hours of on duty time......The current 14 hour rule is a joke.........

The idiots who came up with numbers were just pandering to big business......now it has come back to haunt them............Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheriff Dennis Proffitt may not realize........but in the history of America........she has had her share of enemies............From the British who first denied us our freedom........to Nazism.......and communism, socialism and today, radical Islam.............

Virginia Community Colleges to raise tuition yet again.............

Here we go again.......The Virginia Community College System board has approved another tuition increase of over 7%........Citizens, this is outrageous..........to say the least.......To take a three credit class is well over 300.00 dollars now......this is not a bargain.............this is ridiculous.......

I have said this before and will say it again.........We need a law in Virginia that prevents any governmental agency from raising tuition and fees to any amount over and above what State employees are receiving in annual salary raises........For instance, if State workers receive a 2% raise..........then that is the only amount Fees, tuition and taxes can be raised.

College tuition rates in Virginia are spiraling out of control............The powers in control keep raising the rates.........at three and four times what the Citizens are getting in raises...........keep in mind that many industries and Governmental employees have not had raises in several years........this is a travesty that must be dealt with...........

Sheriff Proffitt's Vietnam war draft classifications............

Sheriff Proffitt has been asked on several occasions to produce the required information to access his Selective Service draft classifications held in Public record during the Vietnam War.............To date, he has not answered any of these requests............
Why?.......I believe the Sheriff has something to hide.........as an elected official and public official......the citizens have a right to view these classifications......

It is disturbing.....that when repeatedly asked, he does not answer these requests.....this is troubling to say the least.............Proffitt is a public servant..........he asks of his employees to complete their duties without question.......but, he refuses to answer questions about his selective service status during the Vietnam War......Sad, but true.....

Citizens, we are the taxpayers and we fund the Sheriff's salary.......he answers to us....the voters......but his reluctance to answer questions about his military service, shows his arrogance.........Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!

Joint base Langley-Eustis open house and Air Power over Hampton

I attented the open house at Langley Air Force Base on the 14th of May and I must say I was impressed.....The Officers and enlisted personnel of the United States Air Force made me proud to be an American and Veteran of the USAF.......

My brother traveled with me to the Air Show and we had a wonderful time touring various USAF aircraft and talking to the crews......I was able to journey to the flight deck of a B-1 bomber and talk to the aircraft commander...........went into the bomb bay of the mighty B-52 and talked to the commander of that aircraft as well........we talked with F-16 pilots and other pilots of the world's finest Air Force........

We took a tour of a Boeing B17 flying fortress and I was awestruck at this old war bird........we also sat in the cockpit of a C130 J model and talk with its crew as well..........

We also took in the various aircraft that flew demonstrations during the show..........My favorite was the venerable F4 phantom fighter.........capping off the show was a grand performance of the USAF demonstration Team the Thunderbirds..............

I was proud to be there and talk to all the Air Force personell that make it happen.......these young men and woman are impressive.........they make me proud and America proud......my thanks to them all and Godspeed....................

If President Obama can come forward and present his birth certificate to the public......then surely Chesterfield Sheriff Dennis Proffitt can present his draft card and selective service classifications that were assigned to him during the Vietnam war........

Certainly, Sheriff Proffitt  can understand.........that the public has a right to view his selective service classifications assigned to you during the war........At the very least, Citizens.....we would hate to even think that the Sheriff shirked his duties to the United States of America.......or quite possibly was a draft avoider..........

Energy costs are going through the roof.....threatening the economy once again.

The government reported Monday that gas is up another nickel in the past week, now selling for a nationwide average of $3.84 a gallon. In six states and the District of Columbia, the average price is over $4. This is wreaking havoc on some family budgets.

Everything in this country is tied to fuel costs........groceries, medical supplies and manufacturing........Trucking companies recoup rising fuel costs through "fuel surcharges" which means they pass the additional costs of doing business back to you and me...........

Citizens.........now is the time to continue drilling for more fossil fuels, study alternative sources and employ technology.........our economy is going to suffer.........Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!!!

UVA announces 8.9 percent tuition hike................

UVa announced tuition hikes this week The cost of undergraduate tuition and fees at The University of Virginia will increase 8.9 percent next year

Citizens, we need legislation in the Commonwealth that would limit public colleges and universities from raising tuition no more than the same percentage of wage increases received by State workers.......College tuition costs have spiraled out of control........Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!!!

At one time the Community College System in Virginia was considered a bargain.........I can hardly see where at about 300.00 dollars for a three credit class it remains the bargain it once was.........

Citizens, we have let these colleges and universities raise tuition at rates that are more than double and triple the rates of inflation.............As a result of this..higher education costs have become outrageous............

Sheriff Proffitt confused.................

He must be confused...........Dennis Proffitt has been married and divorced four times...........anyone married that many times is either confused, guilty of bad judgement or a glutton for punishment..........I feel that all three of the latter is quite fitting..........

I don't quite understand how someone who has been married four times could be intersted in supporting raising court filing fees in Chesterfield County to the highest in the nation........Statistics show that folks that have been married as many times as he has believe in divorce...........and Citizens.........divorce court can be expensive........but, remember........when you make the kind of six-figure loot Proffitt does.........you forget about the little people.......E.G. Citizens..................

Consequently.........I feel for the Sheriff.......and hope he does not end up in divorce court for a fifth time......it could be quite expensive for him................Citizens......we feel the Sheriff's........pain......Ouch!!!!!!!!!

Just say "no" to new taxes and fees

     Leading congressional Republicans renewed their vehement opposition to tax increases Wednesday, as President Barack Obama prepared to put forth his new prescription for slow growth and national indebtedness.

"Most people understand that Washington doesn't have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem," said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va. "We can't raise taxes. ... That was settled last November during the elections."

This philosophy must apply to all levels of Government.........In Chesterfield County, Virginia we have the Sheriff's Office that has run up a huge overtime bill..........the Deputies are suing to collect.......If the Deputies win, it will cost the taxpayers millions of dollars..........Citizens, this is not good stewardship of our tax dollars..........

Sheriff Proffitt supported raising court filing fees in Chesterfield County to the highest in the Nation.........This is not the time to raise taxes and fees.........Citizens, we are being hurt by astronomical fuel and food costs.......Medical costs and insurance are hurting the working men and women of the great nation.  We demand leadership in the Sheriff's Office that does not keep spending.......but looks for creative ways to SAVE money........Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!!!

Citizens, the funding of our schools is in deep trouble, we have experienced hard economic times for the last several years.......The economy is showing signs of life, but tax revenues are down........Consequently, we are facing a huge fiscal dilemma.........at every level of government...........

As lawmakers around the country debate their states' budgets, they're staring over the edge of a massive fiscal cliff - the point where about $100 billion in federal stimulus money for education will run out.

The end of that money will compound states' severe budget woes and likely lead to thousands of layoffs and the elimination of popular school programs around the country.

We need careful stewards of our tax dollars..........We need elected officials that mind spending our tax dollars......In Chesterfield County Virginia, we face the "Overtime-Oversight" dilemma in which the Sheriff's Office has run up a preposterous overtime time tab that the taxpayers will have to pay up............This dilemma has been festering for years and will cost us millions of dollars from a pending lawsuit by the Sheriff's deputies...........

Consequently, citizens, we must remember those elected officials that spend our precious tax dollars with reckless abandon come election time........Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!!!!

Sheriff Proffitt and the Budget.............

During the last election for Sheriff of Chesterfield County.......Sheriff Proffitt touted his budget skills........Well, Citizens.......if you have not heard......the Deputies are suing the County Government for overtime they say is due them according to a 2005 law passed by the General Assembly.........Which would compensate the Deputies between the 160 and 171 hour threshold.............for hours they have worked.
The problem that we face is......if the Deputies win this lawsuit.....it will cost us Millions........How can this be considered good stewardship of a budget and taxpayer dollars?.........When did the Sheriff realize that the County would not pay up?........If and when the Sheriff's Office realized that the County was not compensating the Deputies they should have pulled the plug on the scheduling of overtime........Not continuing to run up the tab like a bunch of drunken college fraternity boys..........

This "overtime-oversight" is going to cost the citizens millions of precious tax dollars...........and many of the Citizens of this County work in occupations and industries that are exempt from overtime laws........Why should the taxpayers, who don't recieve overtime pay.......fork out millions of dollars.......

We are getting fleeced by a bunch of amatuers we have entrusted as stewards of our tax dollars..............

Chesterfield County Virginia Deputies Continue on with Overtime dispute against the Chesterfield County.

Following the unfortunate demise of the Attorney that the Deputies had first entrusted their lawsuit with, it appears the widow of that Attorney will continue with their lawsuit concerning the overtime pay dispute with the county.

Citizens, this new law, that the deputies have pointed out which would allow them overtime compensation was passed by the State legislature in 2005........Citizens....this is 2011.........do the math.......this is a debacle in the making.

When did the parties, Both the Sheriff's Office and the County realise they were at odds on this issue?  I imagine sometime in the last 6 years...........My point.....why has this been allowed to fester on like this for so many years......The answer Citizens......is GOVERNMENTAL MISMANAGEMENT.....from the Sheriff's office to the Chesterfield County Administration....Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!

Lets face it, times are tough.....they are many occupations and industries in this country that are exempt from overtime law.....period.....you ain't gonna get nothing but straight time, no matter how much you work.....Gas is over 3 bucks a gallon, food and energy costs are killing the working men and women of the great nation.  Social security recipients are looking at another year with no COLA.......and the Sheriff's Office management has assigned overtime like a bunch of drunken sailors..........Citizens, we must take control........!!!!!!!!!!!

"Overtime Scheduling" is a precious and costly commodity.........to the Citizens.......It should only be used in dire situations.......We need leadership at the Sheriff's Office that minds spending the taxpayers dollars.......Not leadership that spends "Our tax dollars" with utter reckless abandon.....I most certainly feel for the Deputies in this mess, but I most certainly feel for the citizens who are getting fleeced by a bunch of neophytes spending our money!!!!!..Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!!

We are fighting rebels in afganistan, we are fighting the rebels in iraq. And we are supporting the rebels in libya. What is ironic is that they are all the same people. Furthermore......we will be fighting the same rebels we are helping in Libya..........

Gas is over three bucks a gallon, the infrastructure in this Country is crumbling, wages are stagnant and jobs are scarce.........and we are half way around the world in a third war with arabs.........

With UN forces.....pounding Gaddifi's forces from the skies.......we are creating more.....instability in the Arab World......The turmoil in Libya was clearly the makings of a civil war......Prior to 9/11 the United States was hated in the Arab world.......No matter who you side with in the Arab world there are consequences to face.......If the UN action in Libya ousts Gaddifi, who will take his place?........I believe there will be a power struggle and the suffering that we saw Iraq.....

There needs to be a plan about what happens after Qaddafi: who is in charge then, and who pays for this all," said Lugar, a Republican. "With the Arab League having second thoughts and Turkey nixing NATO taking over, there are even more questions. We also have to debate how all this effects the Saudis, Bahrain and Yemen."

Considering the wonderful success we have had in the Arab world.....we should not send US soldiers into another quagmire.  Let these Countries fight it out amongst themselves........Before we even think of sending one soldier, sailor, airmen or marine into harms way....we better have a plan "B" for the next morning.......A much better one than we had for Iraq.........

Richmond mayor supports "gun show loophole" law............

Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones has joined other politicians.....in support of closing the "Gun show loophole".  I wish I had the name of the person who came with the phrase "Gun show loophole"  Citizens, this is just another "made up" phrase that the politicians and gun control advocates have created in their quest to restrict law abiding citizens to own firearms......

Citizens, why don't the advocates of closing the "gun show loophole" just come out and say it.......They don't want private sales of firearms in public places....E.G., gunshows!!!!

Private sales of Firearms are perfectly legal.......Private sellers are not required to follow Federal Firearms laws that liscensed dealers must abide by.......If I want to sell one of my firearms.......to an individual......I most certainly have the right to. Citizens, we must take control!!!!  We have the right to make private sales.......

There is no "Gun Show loophole".....So, to the mayor and all the other folk's who do not want private sales of firearms in public places........Just come out and say it!!!!  You want to end private sales of Firearms!....not use some stupid catch phrase that is meaningless........Citizens, we must take control!!!

Open Government is essential to the Citizens

Citizens, as taxpayers and stewards of our Government we have a right to open and accessible government.  Unfortunately, this is not the case....In Virginia there are too many exemptions to Freedom of Information Act requests.  This allows government to operate without the knowledge of the taxpayers.

For this system to survive, We must have more open access to the operations of Government.  As Citizens, this is our fundamental right and is a cornerstone to this great democracy called America. Charging citizens who make requests, unreasonable amounts for requests is yet another tactic that Government uses to discourage  citizens from inquiring about Governmental operations.

Citizens, we need affordable and open access to our Government. Citizens, we must take control!!!

Chesterfield Sheriff Dennis Proffitt a Draft avoider?

I have in my possession...three letters that were sent to Chesterfield County Sheriff Dennis Proffit requesting his United States Selective Service Classifications assigned to him during the Vietnam War.......

To this date......none of these letters have been answered.  Citizens, why have they been unanswered by the Sheriff?....Because the Sheriff might have been a Vietnam War era draft avoider. In one published article, Proffitt says he was employed as a dispatcher in 1968 by Henrico County.......During the last election he stated he attended the defunct smithdeal-massey business school to study court reporting...........Citizens, we demand to see Proffitt's United States Selective Service Classifications assigned to him during the Vietnam War.......Proffitt's unwillingness to answer questions concerning his draft classifications are troubling...Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!

Dennis Proffitt.....please "Cowboy up" and let the citizens of this County view your Selective Service records and Draft Card that are available to the public and held in record by the United States Government........it is the non-cowardly thing to do.....Citizens, we must take control!!!

Sheriff Proffitt sides with his deputies in overtime dispute

The Sheriff appears to be rallying the troops......siding with them on the overtime dispute with the County.....He stands nothing to lose...But, citizens, we do!!!....I find it very ironic....After all it was his managerial staff that assigned the deputies to work overtime and they did  not receive the overtime pay.......Furthermore, Proffitt has no problem  spending your tax dollars..and he has supported raising your taxes and fees!....Proffitt, advocated raising court filing fees in Chesterfield County to the highest in the nation.....While the rest of America suffers from high energy, food and medical costs.  Remember Citizens, wages have been stagnant.....further hurting the citizenry....Citizens, we must take control!!!

Citizens, there are plenty of industries that are exempt from overtime law.......and plenty of occupations as well.....Why should the taxpayers,  many who work in jobs that do not pay overtime,  support Leaderhip in the Chesterfield Sheriff's Office who have assigned overtime like "drunken sailors".  We need more prudent stewards of our tax dollars at the Sheriff's Office.   Citizens, we must take control!!!!!

If you decide on making a Freedom of Information request with the Chesterfield Sheriff's Office you had better have deep pockets...Why?....Because they charge an hourly rate that is more than double what the average per capita income wage is in Chesterfield, County Va.......The average per hour cost to research and complete a request was quoted at an average of 29.84 an hour......Now citizens, keep in mind this was an average........the highest hourly rate by one of their workers was a whopping 38.66 an hour.....keep in mind the average wage in Chesterfield County is 12.15 an hour........Citizens, we need affordable and open access to government.  This is a fleecing that must be stopped...Citizens, we must take control!!!!!!!

Turning point for labor in Wisconsin

Do workers really have any rights anymore?......the workers would like to think so.  In reality most workers do not have any rights.......in the private sector unionization is at an all time low......."Right to work" legislation has all but crippled the once mighty power that labor unions held in this country.........

The public sector has better benefits and worker's rights.....Government jobs are most sought after and for good reason...benefits, pay, employment rights and the like make them very appealing......

Wisconsin's governor is claiming that collective bargaining must be abolished so he can close an enormous budget gap.......the teachers and other workers have stormed the state house........paralyzing government.......

It appears that a turning point is in the making.......Unions have suffered miserably in the private sector since the 70's.......Public unions now face a similar demise..........

"Taxpayers have to be heard too!"

With Governments both on the state and local level facing deficits.......The taxpayers have to be heard too!!!
Citizens.....we can not afford uncontrollable government spending in any way, shape or form!!!  Government leaders must be diligent in finding ways of saving precious tax dollars in these tough economic times......

Food and energy costs have hurt the working men and women of this great nation over the last several years....property values are down......Times are tough and Government leaders must get tough when it comes to spending our dollars!!! Citizens, we must take control!!!

We cannot keep raising taxes and fees to offset any budget gaps.....The private sector has cut back and reduced hours and so must Government.......Citizens, we must take control!!!!

Sheriff Proffitt on Vietnam War draft classifications............

More than 40 years ago when the war in Vietnam was at a turning point....where was Chesterfield Sheriff Dennis Proffitt. Your guess is as good as mine......Proffitt has repeatedly refused requests for his Selective Service Classifications during the war.......Hmmmmm, does he have something to hide?

What if anything are you trying to hide???.....you have not answered requests for permission to access your draft card and the information required to access your United States Selective Service Classifications that are held in public record and available to anyone who asks.........

In January 1969, over 500,000 American soldiers were serving in Vietnam, 400 Americans a week were dying in the jungles of Vietnam. Obviously, Proffitt was not to concerned about the 2.5 million American men and women who served in what Ronald Reagan referred to as "a noble cause" or he would have joined the fight against communism.
Citizens, we are members of this so-called "corporation" and we have a right to know and view the Sheriff's Selective Service Classifications during the war, incidently, these are held in record at the National Archives and Records Administration.......Citizens, we must take control.........

Federal Law Trumps State law...........

I for one must side with Chesterfield County, Virginia.......in the case of not paying the "gap" overtime pay to
public safety workers  due by Virginia State law....Why?.....Because Federal law says that the County is not obligated to due so.  Just because some self-serving politicians in the Virginia General Assembly got this law passed is not enough for the citizens of the Chesterfield County to fork over all this overtime money....Citizens, we must take control.

Governor Rick Scott of Florida recently required State employees to contribute more towards their retirement fund......In doing so Scott said, "why should the taxpayers, many of whom do not have a retirement, continue to openly fund State employees who do have a retirement".  I must say I feel the same way concerning the "Gap" pay issue in Chesterfield County. Why should the taxpayers pay for all this overtime, when many of them work in industries and occupations that are exempt from overtime pay. 

Overtime pay is a precious and expensive commodity....I guess the Sheriff was hoping to get the financing to pay for all this overtime  by raising court filing fees in Chesterfield County to the highest in the Nation!!!!!
Remember his tax and spend philosophy during the next election......Citizens we must take control!!!!

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY UNDER FIRE FOR NOT PAYING PUBLIC SAFETY EMPLOYEES OVERTIME...

First of all let me say that having worked in the Chesterfield County Jail (old "A" building) for a little over a year I can assure you it was a tough job at best.  The conditions were bleak, hot and smelly.  Most of all, the "guests" were not the most pleasant to deal with. Having been there and done that I must say my hat goes off to the brave men and women who walk the catwalks....

The Sheriff is spearheading a lawsuit against the County for overtime due these brave men and woman.  While I certainly believe that if the County employees are due overtime according to some policy, law or procedure then........Chesterfield must pay up.

On the other hand....my question is how has this problem been allowed to fester all this time?  Citizens, this is a classic case of mismanagement.......From County Government to the Sheriff...let the finger pointing begin!
Did both parties in this lawsuit.....one albeit that will be costing the Taxpayers money wake up one morning and decide the deputies were owed overtime pay that they rightfully didn't receive?  I hardly think so.

My sources within the Sheriff's Office blame management for being understaffed and continuing to schedule all this overtime....Citizens, this is why many governments across this land are flowing with red ink...We cannot afford to pay huge overtime bills in these tough economic times....Staffing decisions are management decisions and apparently both were severely lacking.......in leading up to this debacle.

Government mismanagement is costing the taxpayers and believe me it is costing all of us dearly.....We need effective leadership in the Sheriff's Office that can sharpen a pencil.....in these tough economic times....not leadership that runs up the red ink and empties the taxpayers pockets....Citizens, we must take control.....

Senate Republicans push illegal immigration legislation

With the Virginia House of Delegates in full swing...Republicans are pushing legislation to crack down on illegal immigrants....I have nothing against people who come to the Greatest country on the planet....But...you have to do it legally......If you are in this country illegally....you gotta go!!!

We have to become proactive when dealing with this issue......law enforcement in Chesterfield, County Virginia prefers the "head-in-the-sand" approach....Sheriff Proffitt says it is a Federal Problem.........Citizens....I urge you to think about that...This is America.......and we are part of this great nation....If our leadership in law enforcement is not part of the solution.........then they are obviously part of the problem. Consequently, we need aggressive enforcement......Citizens, we must take control!

Illegals, benefit from tax payer funded programs........and citizens, that means your pockets.......Think about that the next time a politician wants to raise taxes and fees........Sheriff Proffitt supported legislation that would raise Court filing fees in Chesterfield, County Virginia to the highest in the nation.....But, he remains soft on illegal immigration.....the fact that no Sheriff's deputies are trained in 287 (g) speaks for itself.....Citizens, we must take control!

Why has law enforcement not been trained in 287(g)....your guess is as good as mine.....County law enforcement is soft on illegal immigration.....During the last Sheriff's Office election.....Sheriff Proffitt said "it is a Federal Issue"....and he concurs with the Chief of Police...that we cannot arrest our way out of the problem......Across this great nation,. many law enforcement agencies have taken advantage of this provision and the enforcement tools it has given their departments.....Citizens....We must take control....We need law enforcement in Chesterfield that will aggressively enforce immigration laws....our safety is at stake......Citizens, we must take control!

We cannot afford leadership in Chesterfield County to be soft on illegal immigration.........This is a problem that is costing the taxpayers money....At a time where tax dollars are scarce and limited......If law enforcement in Chesterfield wishes to turn a blind eye to illegal immigration........well, citizens.......we must take control........

Public servants are exactly what they are........
